SOFA CHICAGO 2007: VISITOR INFORMATION

The 14th International Exposition of Sculpture Objects & Functional Art is a gallery-presented, international art exposition dedicated to bridging the worlds of design, decorative and fine art. Festival Hall, Navy Pier

Wheelchairs and Elevators
Wheelchairs are available at the Guest Services Desk inside the Family Pavilion, located near the West entrance, and at the East End Security Post. They are available at no charge, on a first-come, first-served basis. ID is required. All levels of the Navy Pier complex are accessible by elevators.

  • Photography is not permitted. Cameras must be checked at coat check for a fee.
  • Backpacks, large purses, bulky coats and oversized personal items must be checked at coat check for a fee.
  • Children under the age of 12 are free with an adult.

Student & Senior tickets      $12 (valid id required)

Tickets are available at the door, cash and credit cards (VISA, American Express & Mastercard) are accepted.

Over 30 presentations at SOFA by renowned artists, collectors and arts professionals are planned. Admission is included with a valid SOFA ticket. The complete schedule will be posted here when available.

     
Catalog
 
Contains essays, gallery information, a list of represented artists and hundreds of color images of artwork. The catalog is for sale at the exposition for $15. After the show, the current catalog and available back editions may be purchased here.
     
Special Exhibits/ Events
 
Exhibits are curated and presented by international arts organizations, including (in past & Events years) the World Ceramic Exposition Foundation (WOCEF), Korea, Association of Israel's Decorative Arts, and Crafts Council of Ireland. The Corning Museum of Glass Hot Glass Roadshow will demonstrate live hot glass blowing. Artist book signings are scheduled throughout the show. A schedule will be posted on sofaexpo.com as information becomes available.

Maps are available at ticket sales counters during the show or online, right before the show.
     
Dining at SOFA
 
Cafés in the show will offer spirits, sandwiches and light supper during show hours. Information on Navy Pier's restaurants and food court is available here.
     
Getting There
 

Bus and train travel information is available at Chicago Transit Authority, 1.888.YOURCTA.

Taxis: Navy Pier has three taxi drop-off and pick-up points. Entrance 1 is closest to SOFA.

A daily free trolley runs between Navy Pier and State Street, along Grand Avenue and Illinois Street, Mon-Thu 10 am-9 pm; Fri-Sat 10 am-11 pm; and Sun 10 am-8 pm. Trolleys typically run every 20 minutes, pick-up points are indicated by 'Navy Pier Trolley Stop' signs along the route.
